Welcome to our SholomPlex Mini featuring the following:
- Sanctuary Service with Guest Cantor: Senior Rabbinical Student Batya Ellinoy – 9:30 – 11:30
- Batya grew up in Monterey, CA. After graduating high school, she moved to Israel, made aliyah, and served in the IDF. Returning to the U.S., she graduated from Prescott College with self-designed majors in Studies in Diversity & Social Sustainability and Dance and & Transformation. Offering a unique integration of Jewish study, nature-connection, and embodied arts, Batya taught workshops at Limmud Bay Area, Wilderness Torah, co-led a trans-denominational Jewish community in San Francisco, and worked as an educator at a Jewish experiential after school program in Berkeley, CA. Batya most recently lived in Prescott, Arizona, working as Associate Faculty in Integrated Arts/Dance at Prescott College and as group psychoeducation facilitator for clients recovering from addition. Currently, Batya is in her second year of rabbinical school at Hebrew College to fulfill her calling of becoming a rabbi.
- Chapel – Interfaith Discussion with Esther Kosofsky – 9:30 – 10:30
- Due to the growing popularity of these discussions, we are continuing the Interfaith Discussions with Esther Kosofsky. Some of the topics for discussion are:
- Being an intermarried couple, negotiating and making decisions regarding:
- holidays and celebrations
- religious observances and rituals
- raising children – ‘the “how’s” of raising them Jewish’
- dealing with extended families’ expectations, perceptions and perspectives of your being intermarried and more
- Youth Lounge – Torah Yoga – 10:15 – 11:30
- Our ever popular Torah Yoga with Reverend Debbie Clark and congregants Rosanne Kates and Larry Yarmaloff
- Remember to bring your Yoga mats and comfortable clothing
A light Kiddush luncheon will follow the services.
